Creed “Human Clay” Diamond Record Award
September 3, 2025
Another day, another incredible award has made its way to Switzerland! For those who follow my blog, you’re probably familiar with the fact that the crown jewel of my collection is the Kid Rock “Devil Without A Cause” Diamond Award. While the “Human Clay” Diamond Award from Creed may not be quite as large, it’s undoubtedly one of the heaviest and most impressive in my collection, possibly the heaviest of them all. Unlike most awards, which feature a paper or cardboard back, this one is equipped with a stunning checker plate, it’s absolutely insane!
As I mentioned before with the Kid Rock Diamond Award, this marks my second Diamond-certified piece. For those who may not know, Diamond certification is awarded for selling 10,000,000 copies of an album. It’s an extraordinary achievement, especially considering that, as of now, only around 105 albums in history have reached this remarkable milestone.
Creed “Human Clay” Diamond Record Award
“Human Clay” was released on September 28, 1999, via Wind-Up Records. It sold a staggering 315,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts. By November 3, 1999, it was already certified Platinum by the RIAA, and it went Diamond on July 16, 2001. The album later achieved 11x Platinum status on January 29, 2004.
Beyond dominating the U.S. charts, “Human Clay” also reached #1 in Canada, Denmark, and Norway, #2 in Australia, #3 in South Africa, and #4 in New Zealand. It charted in the top 10 across several other countries, including #9 in Finland, Germany, and Sweden, #11 in Austria, #23 in Scotland, and #35 in my home country, Switzerland.
In terms of certifications, “Human Clay” didn’t stop at Diamond in the U.S. It also earned Gold certifications in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. It achieved Platinum status in Norway, 3x Platinum in South Africa, 4x Platinum in Australia, 5x Platinum in New Zealand, and 6x Platinum in Canada. Truly an international phenomenon.
Creed “Human Clay” Diamond Record Award
Let’s talk about the award itself: As I mentioned earlier, this is easily the heaviest piece in my entire collection, it's not just large, it’s truly monumental! The design is exquisite, featuring ten vinyl records, each symbolizing 1,000,000 copies sold. Check also out the backside of the award, it has a brilliant looking checker plate. Normally I don’t even put photos online of the backside, but this one looks just stunning!
On the left side we have portraits of the singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips. The award also prominently displays the Creed logo, with “10 million sold” elegantly die-cut into the black backdrop, lending the piece a refined, prestigious look. It’s truly a masterpiece in every sense.
The award is dedicated to Neil Warnock, he was a music agent who established the agency South Bank Artists in the early 1960s, gaining a reputation for promoting bands at iconic venues like Eel Pie Island. The agency worked with a diverse array of acts, including The Doors, Jethro Tull, and Deep Purple. Warnock later expanded his career by managing other agencies and representing high-profile artists such as the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, and Mariah Carey.
