Disturbed “Indestructible” Platinum record award

Another fantastic-looking award just arrived here in the Swiss Alps. It’s the Platinum record award for Disturbed’s fourth album, “Indestructible”. The album was released on June 3, 2008, and received Gold certification just one month later, on July 17, 2008, thats insane! Platinum followed on April 8, 2009, and that’s what this award celebrates. Update 2025:Indestructible” was officially certified double platinum on March 6, 2025!

Chart-wise, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 253,000 copies in its first week. It was Disturbed’s third consecutive #1 debut on the chart, an achievement matched by only five other rock bands at the time.

Internationally, it also saw major success: #1 in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand; #2 in Finland; #10 in Austria; #11 in Germany; #15 in Sweden and also #15 in my home country, Switzerland.

As for certifications, the album went Gold in the UK, Finland, and Germany; Platinum in Australia and New Zealand; 2x Platinum in the United States; and even 3x Platinum in Canada, solidifying its status as a global success!

Disturbed “Indestructible” Platinum Record Award

Let’s take a moment to appreciate this award. It’s easily in my top five, absolutely stunning! The piece is massive, featuring a vintage-style silver and grey frame that really gives it presence.

At the center is the album cover artwork, set against a fiery background. Between the flames and Disturbed’s iconic mascot, “The Guy,” the vinyl is placed in a way that adds a striking 3D effect, especially since the mascot is printed on thick, raised cardboard. It really pops when viewed from different angles. In the lower right, there’s a group photo of the band, and the “Disturbed” logo is printed directly onto the plexiglass at the top. This award is once again dedicated to Rich Garcia — here’s a quick look at who he is:

He’s a seasoned producer, engineer, composer, and musician, has spent over six decades in the music industry. Starting in his teens in Corpus Christi, he found his passion for recording. After forming Hacienda Records in 1979 with his brother, Rick produced hits for artists like Freddy Fender and Lisa Lopez. Today, he leads CHR Records, hosts regional events, and runs a syndicated radio show, "Through The Decades," continuing to be driven by his love for music.
