Three Days Grace “Self Titled” Gold Record Award

June 27, 2022

Another stunning award has just arrived, my first for Three Days Grace, celebrating the Gold certification of their self-titled debut album.

Released on July 22, 2003, the album had a gradual rise, debuting at #194 on the U.S. Billboard 200 before peaking at #69. In their native Canada, it made a stronger entrance at #9, and also charted in Australia (#47) and New Zealand (#21).

The album was certified Gold in the U.S. on March 11, 2004, followed by Platinum six months later on December 2, 2004. Remarkably, it achieved Double Platinum status 14 years later, on February 12, 2018. It also earned Gold certification in New Zealand and Platinum in Canada, reflecting its enduring impact.

Three Days Grace “Self Titled” Gold Record Award

Let’s talk about this award. While most of my awards feature sleek black or silver frames, this one stands out with a unique, vintage-inspired frame that adds a distinct old-school charm. The design is straightforward yet elegant, showcasing the album cover prominently in the center with the CD displayed just below. This award is dedicated to Arthur Spivak.

Arthur Spivak is an American entertainment executive, producer, and manager known for representing artists like Prince, Tori Amos, and Juicy J, and comedians including Paul Reiser and Kevin Pollak. He founded Spivak Entertainment in the 1990s, produced TV and comedy specials, and co-founded Laff Mobb. After decades in management, he returned to music managing Juicy J and producing comedy hits like the 2020 “The Fu*k Happened.”
