How it all started…

I never originally set out to collect RIAA awards. However, as a longtime Limp Bizkit fan, I couldn't resist the opportunity when Wes Borland announced he was auctioning off his collection. The news was everywhere at the time, featured across nearly every rock and metal outlet, so it was impossible to miss.

Of course, I would have loved to purchase all of the awards, but who can really afford that? Haha. After carefully reviewing the options, I narrowed it down to five that I truly wanted: the Gold award for Three Dollar Bill Y’all$, the Platinum award for the same album, the Multi-Platinum award (6 million copies sold) for Significant Other, a multi-album award from New Zealand, and finally, an in-house award recognizing 16 million records sold worldwide for Significant Other.

Long story short: much to my surprise I ended up winning all five auctions. Now I’m just hoping they arrive safely in Switzerland. If they do, I’ll be more than happy.

Wes Borland’s Platinum Record for “Three Dollar Bill Yall$”

I must say, the Platinum record for “Three Dollar Bill Y'all$” is truly a standout in my collection. The vibrant blue hue gleams with remarkable brilliance, and the artwork is nothing short of stunning. The meticulous craftsmanship, especially the precise detailing of the heads, is impressive. And as a striking finishing touch, the Limp Bizkit logo elegantly embossed on the glass is a brilliant highlight. It’s an absolute masterpiece.

Wes Borland’s Gold Record for “Three Dollar Bill Yall$”

Nearly as impressive as the Platinum edition is the Gold version of “Three Dollar Bill Y’all$”. The striking contrast of the vibrant blue backdrop paired with the gleaming gold disc is absolutely captivating. And, just like the Platinum version, the Limp Bizkit logo embossed on the glass serves as an eye-catching, defining detail. Truly a remarkable piece.

Wes Borland’s Multi-Platinum (6 million sold copies) award for “Significant Other”

Another remarkable piece in the collection is Wes Borland's Multi-Platinum Award for “Significant Other”, commemorating an incredible 6 million copies sold. This award is truly massive and makes a striking statement with its six discs elegantly displayed alongside the vinyl record. The pièce de résistance, however, is the stunning Limp Bizkit logo font at the top, which adds a touch of sophistication to this already magnificent masterpiece.

Wes Borland’s Multi-Award from New Zealand for gold/platinum on the first 3 records.

I know, I said this before but again this piece holds a special place in the collection, as most awards on the market are RIAA certifications from the United States. It's much rarer to come across international awards like this exceptional one from New Zealand. This particular award commemorates Gold for “Three Dollar Bill Y’all$” and Triple Platinum for both “Significant Other” and “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water”. What truly sets this award apart, however, is the stunning wooden tiki figurine embedded within, a beautiful example of traditional Maori craftsmanship that adds a unique and cultural touch from New Zealand.

Wes Borland’s in-house award for 16 million copies sold of “Significant Other”

Finally, we have the last award in the collection, an in-house recognition created by Interscope Records to celebrate the astounding achievement of 16 million copies sold worldwide for “Significant Other”. This award is not only visually impressive, but it’s also surprisingly heavy. Unlike the previous four awards, this one is crafted with real glass, adding substantial weight and a sense of luxury. The true highlight, however, is the display of 16 discs, each representing one million copies sold globally. What makes it even more striking is the inclusion of the flags from the various countries where these sales numbers were achieved, adding a global touch to this incredible milestone.
