Disturbed “Immortalized” Gold record award

The year 2025 is only 13 days old and here’s already the first purchase of the year! I’m pleased to announce another remarkable achievement from the band Disturbed: the Gold certification for their album “Immortalized”, released on August 21, 2015. The album earned Gold status on September 23, 2016, and reached double Platinum on March 6 of this year, driven in large part by the global success of its standout single, “The Sound of Silence.”

Upon release, “Immortalized” debuted at number 1 in the United States, Australia, and Canada. In our home country of Switzerland, it reached number 5 and remained on the Swiss charts for an impressive 36 weeks. In addition to its double Platinum status in both the United States and Canada, the album also achieved double Platinum in New Zealand, Platinum in Australia, Denmark, Germany, and Norway, and Gold in Austria, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

Disturbed “Immortalized” Gold Record Award

The first thing that comes to mind when receiving this beautiful award is its remarkable weight, it is certainly one of the heaviest pieces in my collection, largely due to its substantial black double frame. The artwork is striking, and the inclusion of the interior sticker creates an impressive three-dimensional effect. The craftsmanship is exceptional, as can be seen in the detailed photographs below. This award is dedicated to the radio station WTPA.

Disturbed’s cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic The Sound of Silence reached unprecedented heights, charting in 25 countries, including number 12 in Switzerland, and securing the top position in Austria, Portugal, and Romania. The single went on to achieve Gold status in Switzerland, 9× Platinum in the United States, Diamond certification in both Canada and Germany, and an extraordinary Double Diamond in Poland. The success didn’t stop there— in 2023, the band released the “Cyril Remix” of the track, which charted in 28 countries and earned Platinum certification in Switzerland as well as in several other nations.
