Five Finger Death Punch “The Way Of The Fist” and “War Is The Answer” double Gold Record Award
January 2, 2024
Award alert over Switzerland, the double Gold record award for Five Finger Death Punch’s “The Way Of The Fist” and “War Is The Answer” just landed! This one is very special, it’s a combo award of 2 of their Gold albums together in 1 plaque.
Let’s talk first about their debut album “The Way Of The Fist” which was released on July 31, 2007. It had a really slow start, selling only 3,800 copies in its first week, landing at #199 in the Billboard Top 200 and later peaked at #107. It took awhile to receive Gold by the RIAA and that finally happenend on April 13, 2011. The only other country where the album received a certification was Canada, it went Gold there as well. Here’s an interesting side note, besides charting in the U.S. it only charted in 1 more country and that was in Finland at #28!

Now let’s talk about their 2nd album, “War Is The Answer”: it was released on September 22, 2009 and it debuted at #7 selling 44,000 copies in its first week, a massive jump compared to their debut album. But again, the only other country where it charted was in Finland at #14. The album received Gold in the U.S. by the RIAA on April 13, 2001 and later it even received Platinum on February 1, 2016 for selling 1,000,000 copies. Besides Platinum in the States, it received silver in the U.K. and Gold in Canada.
Let’s talk about the award itself. As with all Five Finger Death Punch’s accolades, it’s a beautifully crafted piece, but this one is especially meaningful. It combines the Gold certifications of two albums into one unique display. The design is particularly striking: the Knucklehead from “War Is the Answer” sits on the left side, while the Knucklehead from “The Way of the Fist” is placed on the right. The way the two iconic covers are paired together is a really cool touch.
In the center, the two CDs stand out, with their cover artwork elevated above the background, giving the award a sleek, three-dimensional effect. It’s a perfect balance of artistry and achievement. The award is presented to Barbara Fairbairn, a representative from the record label, who’s played an important role in supporting the band’s incredible journey.
