Pantera “Three Vulgar Videos From Hell” DVD Platinum Award

This one is really special and completely new to me. It’s the very first DVD award I’ve ever added to my collection, which makes it even more exciting. It’s for Pantera’s legendary “Three Vulgar Videos From Hell” Platinum award, and honestly, it’s pretty crazy that something like this even exists.

The DVD itself combines all three of the band’s previous home videos: “Cowboys from Hell: The Videos”, “Vulgar Video”, and “3 Watch It Go”. It’s packed with music videos, live performances, rare appearances, behind-the-scenes interviews, and exclusive footage from the band’s life on tour and in the studio, spanning from mid-1989 to early 1997.

Released on October 5, 1999, the DVD first went Gold on December 16, 2002, after selling 50,000 copies. It later achieved Platinum status on May 4, 2006, for hitting 100,000 copies sold. Outside the U.S., the only other certification came from Australia, where it went Platinum for selling 15,000 copies.

Pantera “Three Vulgar Videos From Hell” DVD Platinum Award

Let’s talk about the award itself. The design is striking, featuring Pantera’s signature checker plate-style background, perfectly complemented by the silver frame that ties the whole piece together. On the right side, you’ll find the three original DVD covers along with the complete DVD box, while the three discs are neatly placed together on the left side, giving the award a beautiful visual impact.

What makes this piece even more special is the dedication. It’s dedicated to Kirk Windstein from the sludge metal band Crowbar, along with his family. Adding to its uniqueness, Kirk personally signed the front of the plexiglass. And here’s a fun detail: on the back, he wrote a note stating that “the award was given to me by Philip Anselmo himself”. I guess he already knew back then that such a note could come in handy if I ever decide to sell this award one day, haha.
