Saliva “Every Six Seconds” Gold Record Award
This is Saliva’s Gold Record for their debut album, “Every Six Seconds”. Released on March 27, 2001, via Island/Def Jam Records, the album achieved Gold certification just three months later, on June 21, 2001. It’s insane how quickly it went Gold, this was still the golden age for Nu-Metal bands, and the album's success proves it. Later on July 18, 2008 it even went Platinum, I’m still in the search of that award in case you have one to sell. haha. By the way, the album debuted at #56 in the U.S. Billboard Top 200 album charts!
Saliva “Every Six Seconds” Gold Record Award
Let’s dive into the award itself: it's a sleek and minimalist design that elegantly showcases the album artwork, accompanied by a CD and a golden cassette tape, an homage to the days when cassettes were the medium of choice. The award is encased in a sophisticated black frame with a striking gold background, giving it a timeless and polished look. It’s a tasteful blend of nostalgia and modern design. The award is dedicated to Jim Caparro:
Jim Caparro, a key figure in the music industry, played a pivotal role in shaping major recording companies, including Island Def Jam Music Group. From 1998 to 2001, as CEO, he transformed the label into the third-largest recording company in the U.S. Prior to that, Caparro had a successful career at PolyGram, where he excelled in product distribution. His leadership at PolyGram saw the creation of an efficient distribution network, earning multiple awards. At Island Def Jam, he revived Bon Jovi’s career and managed major urban acts like Jay-Z and DMX, boosting the label's market share to 9% by 2001. After resigning from Island Def Jam, Caparro briefly led WEA Corp. before moving on to Atari and later founded Entertainment Distribution Corp. His ventures in distribution included a major $122 million deal involving Universal Manufacturing and Glenayre Technologies, positioning Caparro as a dominant force in entertainment product distribution.
